Welcome to the Glasgow Gospel Choir
The Glasgow Gospel Choir is Glasgow’s premier gospel music outfit. The choir, established 15 years ago by Jerry Boweh - originally from Liberia - to bring a taste of gospel to Glasgow, is an amateur, non-denominational community choir which has performed in venues throughout Scotland.
Profits from the choir concerts go to the African Youth Development Action Project (AYDAP) charity, run by Jerry to provide cross-cultural education for young people through music, drama, sports and travel, providing information, guidance and services in relation to health and culture.
The choir has a wide ranging repertoire, including traditional gospel, African songs and a gospel take on modern classics.
The choir has performed on BBC radio and TV and regularly appears at the West End Festival and Glasgow’s Jazz Festival.
